01Who we are
Leasely ("the app") is a mobile application that helps you create rental agreements and other legal documents on your own device. It is operated by FC App Studio ("we", "us", "our").
This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app and this website. If anything here is unclear, please get in touch — we would rather explain it than have you guess.
02Your documents stay on your device
This is the most important part of this policy, so it comes first.
When you fill in a document in Leasely, you type in things that are genuinely sensitive: the names of landlords and tenants, home addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, rent amounts, deposit sums, employment details and handwritten signatures.
None of it is sent to us, and none of it is sent anywhere else. All of it is written to your device's local app storage and stays there. We operate no server that receives your document content, so we could not read your agreements even if we were asked to.
This applies to all of the following:
- Drafts you have started but not finished
- Completed documents and the PDFs generated from them
- Saved party profiles — people you have named on a past document, whom the app offers as one-tap fill chips on the next one
- Signatures you draw with your finger
- Your language, theme and coin-wallet settings
The PDF is also produced entirely on your device. It is not rendered on a server, which is why the app works with no internet connection at all.
Two consequences worth knowing. First, because your documents live only on your device, they are not backed up by us — if you delete the app or lose the phone, they are gone. Export or share the PDF if you want a copy elsewhere. Second, anyone with access to your unlocked phone can open the app and read them, so use your device's own screen lock.
If you choose to share an exported PDF — by email, messaging app, cloud drive or printer — that sharing is handled by the other app you pick, and its own privacy policy applies from that point on.
03What we do collect
We collect a limited amount of anonymous, aggregated information about how the app is used. It is never linked to your identity, because we do not know your identity.
| What | Collected by | Example |
|---|---|---|
| App usage events | Google Analytics for Firebase | Which screens are opened, that a document was completed, session length |
| Device and app info | Google Analytics for Firebase | Device model, operating system version, app version, language setting |
| Approximate region | Google Analytics for Firebase | Country or region, inferred from IP address. We do not collect precise location and the app never asks for GPS permission. |
| A random app instance ID | Google Analytics for Firebase | A random identifier for your app installation, so repeat sessions can be counted as one user. It contains nothing about you and resets if you reinstall. |
| Configuration requests | Firebase Remote Config | The app asks our config service which features and messages to show. This is a read; no document data is sent with it. |
What we never collect: your name, email address, postal address, phone number, payment card details, precise location, contacts, photos, or any part of the documents you create.
04Why we collect it
- To decide what to build. Knowing that a particular document type is started far more often than others tells us where to spend effort. This is the main reason analytics exist in the app at all.
- To find bugs. If a large share of people abandon a document at the same step, something on that step is broken or confusing.
- To ship safely. Remote configuration lets us turn a feature off, or flag a required update, without waiting days for a store review.
For users in the EU and UK, our lawful basis for this processing is legitimate interest — specifically, understanding and improving a product we offer — and the data involved is not personally identifying.
05Third-party services
Currently active
- Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymous usage analytics, as described above. See Firebase privacy and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Remote Config — feature flags and update notices, delivered from Google's servers.
- Firebase Hosting — serves this website. Standard web server logs, including IP addresses, are processed by Google to deliver the page and guard against abuse.
Present in the app but switched off
To be straightforward with you: the app is built on a foundation that includes several optional services. In the current release these are disabled and are not initialised at all, so they neither run nor collect anything:
- Google AdMob (advertising) — currently disabled. If advertising is enabled in a future version, this policy will be updated before that release ships, and ads may use a resettable advertising identifier.
- OneSignal (push notifications) — currently disabled; the app does not request notification permission.
- App Store and Play Store purchases — currently disabled. The app does not contact the stores for purchases, and we never see or store payment details in any case; those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
We are naming these because they appear in the app's technical make-up and you may see them listed by store scanning tools. Nothing in this group is active today.
06Device permissions
Leasely asks for very little.
- Storage / file access — only at the moment you choose to save or share an exported PDF.
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS only) — on iOS the system may show the standard "Allow app to track?" prompt. You may decline, and declining changes nothing about how the app works. Nothing about you is tracked across other companies' apps or websites either way.
The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, photo library or location.
07How long data is kept
- Your documents and drafts — kept on your device until you delete them, or until you uninstall the app, at which point the operating system removes them along with the app's storage.
- Analytics data — retained by Google Analytics for Firebase under its own retention settings, up to a maximum of 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Web server logs — retained by Firebase Hosting under Google's standard practice.
08Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) grants these in the EU and UK; the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) grants comparable rights in California, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
In practice, you can exercise most of these yourself, immediately. Because your documents are held on your device rather than by us, deleting a document in the app — or uninstalling it — erases that data completely. We hold no copy to give you, correct, or delete on your behalf.
For the anonymous analytics we do receive: you can opt out at any time using your device's own controls — "Limit Ad Tracking" or the ATT prompt on iOS, and "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" in Google settings on Android. If you would like the app instance ID associated with your installation deleted, contact us and we will pass the request to Google, though we may be unable to identify which record is yours precisely because the data is not linked to you.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
09Children
Leasely is intended for adults entering into legal agreements and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. As the app collects no personal data from anyone, this is largely academic — but if you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will act on it.
10International transfers
The anonymous analytics and configuration data described above are processed by Google on servers that may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Google maintains its own safeguards for these transfers, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. Your document content is not transferred anywhere, because it never leaves your device.
11Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data — for example, by enabling advertising or push notifications — we will update this page and change the "last updated" date above before that version is released. Material changes will also be signalled in the app. Continuing to use Leasely after an update means you accept the revised policy.
